Walk the accessible route from parking to entrance

Entrances and Path of Travel

Verify the accessible entrance is the public entrance

Measure clear door width and opening force

Inspect ramps for slope and handrails

Photograph every barrier identified on the route

Common Areas and Restrooms

Measure corridor width and turning space

Verify elevator compliance per ASME A17.1

Inspect common-area restroom fixtures and clearances

Check leasing-office counter and waiting area

Signage and Communication

Verify tactile and braille room signage

Test visual fire-alarm strobes in all required areas

Confirm effective-communication options for tenants

Dwelling Unit Accessibility (FHA)

Confirm FHA coverage by building age and configuration

Inspect a sample covered unit against the seven FHA requirements

Review open reasonable-accommodation requests

Findings, Remediation, and Owner Sign-Off

Compile the barrier-removal list with cost estimates

Build the remediation schedule

Refresh staff training on ADA and Fair Housing

Submit findings package to ownership
