Ensure the Health and Safety policy is documented and formally ratified by the highest level of management.

Verify that responsibilities and accountabilities for health and safety are clearly defined and communicated within the organization.

Check that there are sufficient resources allocated for the implementation of the health and safety policy, including staffing, training, and equipment.

Ensure that the procedure for periodic review and revision of health and safety responsibilities is established.

Policy Objectives and Targets

Confirm that health and safety objectives and targets are set for relevant functions and levels within the organization.

Check that objectives and targets are consistent with the policy, including the commitment to continual improvement.

Ensure that the objectives and targets are documented, measurable, monitored, and reviewed.

Compliance and Continuous Improvement

Review the processes for identifying, monitoring, and complying with legal and other requirements.

Check that there is a system in place for regular auditing and updating of health and safety practices.

Confirm that there is a mechanism for incident reporting, investigation, and implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
