Real Estate Photography Checklist
Pre-Photography Preparation
Ensure that the property is clean, decluttered, and well-staged to present each room in the best light.
Verify that all light fixtures work and have matching color temperatures for consistent lighting in photographs.
Remove personal items such as family photos, clothes, and toiletries to make the space more neutral and appealing.
Exterior Photography
Choose the best time of day for lighting, typically early morning or late afternoon, to avoid harsh shadows.
Capture the front and back of the property, including any unique outdoor features such as pools or patios.
Take wide shots to show the full scope of the property and its surroundings, as well as detail shots of any special exterior features.
Interior Photography
Turn on all interior lights and open curtains or blinds to let in natural light for a brighter, more inviting atmosphere.
Photograph each room from different angles to provide a comprehensive view of the space, including important features like built-ins or fireplaces.
Include photos of the kitchen and bathrooms, ensuring these rooms are spotless and all appliances are free from smudges and fingerprints.
Post-Photography Editing
Review and select the best images that accurately represent the property and its features.
Edit photos for correct exposure, color balance, and straightness to ensure they look professional and appealing.
Resize and format images for use on various platforms, including the MLS, social media, and print materials.
